I would actually increase the amount of RAM on the computer first.. that is easy to increase. The graphics, well thats a diffrent story. Most laptop makers sodder the contacts of their graphics cards directly to the laptop, so there is no way to increase this memory without destroying the laptop.

The fact that your computer has 1gb of ram is what the problem is. Vista need atleast 2gb of ram to work well, about it would be nice to get up to 3 or 4gb. You will not be able to change the memory for the graphic card, but will be able to use more ram that will be shared between the system and graphic card.
