My Jetta has 33,000 miles on it and when I got the car, it had around 29,000 miles. Ever since I have owned the car, the brakes (at least I think it is the brakes), make a very high pitched sound when I press on them very slowly. If I brake pretty hard, it doesn’t make any noise at all, but when I brake slowly, the high pitched sound occurs. I took it into the shop (it is covered by warranty) and they said there was rust on the brakes and they scraped it off, but as soon as I got it back, it is STILL making the noise. I called the dealership and told them about it, and they said the brakes have a lot of metal in them, so rust is very common, especially if the car gets wet and that it is just what happens? Does anyone know how this can be fixed? Also, I haven’t had a regular service done to it. How much is the service at 35,000 miles?
