A tough call. Windows XP Home is being phased out soon and no patches or support will be provided by Microsoft. Windows XP Pro will continue to be supported (allegedly) until 2013 ‘ish. XP has been around a long time and it is without a doubt the most stable operating system out there. Vista on the other hand is the future… any new issue will struggle in its infancy, but this will improve with the passage of time. One of the main issues is compatibility with your existing software and other peripherals you may attach to your machine.
