Virtual memory too low message?

Virtual memory is a temporary storage location on your hard drive that Windows uses when the system doesn’t have enough RAM. I would first try running a defrag on your system Start > Accessories > System Tools > Disk Defragmenter. Win XP has a nasty habit of what’s called rotting, and doesn’t manage it’s temporary file storage very well. There are also some ways that you can tweak your v-mem and how Windows manages it. Just google tweaking virtual memory and you’ll find a plethora of guides. Failing that, I would back up any important information and then run the recovery disks that came with the laptop. Of course, I religiously wipe and re-install Win XP on the partition it’s installed on every 6 months anyways. Keeps it fast and clean. I would assume of course that you’re running Win XP as you have a Dell and Vista wasn’t released until 2007.
