Video Files Played Over Wan/Lan Are Jumpy, Is There A Way To Buffer Over The Local Network?
I’ve been using WMP to play video files over our local wireless network, and it’s been doing OK. Although more recently I’ve noticed more and more that there’s periods where it’s pausing to get more data, and that’s really disrupting the showing. Is there a way to have Windows Media Player buffer local/network files? I’ve tried setting up a web server on the computer with the video files, but WMP tries to download the whole bloody file before playing (at least I think that’s what it’s trying to do, since it sort of freezes up). I looked at a streaming server on for the computer with the video files, but got too annoyed trying to find one that would do what I wanted. Help!
