Vedic sutra “Ekadhikena poorvena” (one more than previous one) technically reveals it! Before units/unit conditions 0, 1, 2, 3, 4…etc is counted as 1, 2, 3, 4, 5…etc in a straightforward manner (which is “one unit more than before-units” conditions 0, 1 2, 3, 4)!
