Varsity Training and Animal Intensity don’t affect Sucked Dry, because once a character is in your discard pile, no items or skills remain attached. So if you give Uncle Enyos Varsity Training and he dies in a fight, your opponent can still play Sucked Dry to move him to your crypt.
