Usually how much time is required to reach an “advanced” level where virtually any music you hear – including pop music and music currently on radios, etc can be played by ear?
I know each student has probably his own learning curve, but I suppose there is an average amount of time (assuming daily training, even small). How long will it take for me to reach an “advanced” level of playing by ear? A: How much time it will take before you ‘go public’ depends on many factors. The key to being able to play hundreds of songs with ease is to understand the basic structure of a tune…which is either similar or identical from one song to the next.
