Using the codes that MRI makes available, how do I compute a TV show type average audience?

0

The average audience of the programs within a TV show type can be computed by dividing the total number of programs of that type viewed by the number of programs in that type. MRI provides the number of programs viewed in column-numeric format in the TV Show Type section of the codebook, and each TV show type is assigned a “divide factor” corresponding to the number of programs in that type (e.g.: in 2007 Spring MRI, there were 9 programs assigned to the type “Daytime Drama” type, so the divide factor for that type is 9).
