URGENT! What are some nice things to say in a note to someone who is about to die?
Since you do not know this father well. I suggest you take this tactic….write him a note and tell him what a terrific daughter/son he has in your friend! How surely as a father, this man influenced his child to become a good human being. List the reasons why you like them and that you are sad he is ill, but want him to know he left his mark on the world by helping to create such a good, smart, funny, intelligent, creative, talented child. When my own father was dying, I wrote him a thank you note for my birthday and listed all of the characteristics he imprinted in me. He cried when he read it, and was buried with my “thank you”. It was the BEST note I ever wrote and was probably the most meaningful to him. Good luck.
