The Academia Avance charter was approved by the Los Angeles Unified School District on May 24, 2005. The LAUSD has a direct oversight role over the school, conducting numerous visits of the school throughout the year. Avance must also file an annual audit report with the state. As a public charter school, Avance must follow the pertinent local, state and federal laws. This page lists major assertions to this effect.
