For the most part, your online materials cannot be given away to another instructor unless you have given your consent. The only exceptions are if: • The University specifically requested that you create the materials and gave you written notice before the work was created that it intended to reserve ownership for itself. In this case, the University can give your materials to another instructor without requiring your consent or payment of a fee, unless this was agreed upfront. • The materials were created with the direct assistance of a non-faculty staff member working within the normal conditions of their employment. In this case, the University jointly owns the materials to the extent of the contribution of the staff member and can use the materials without payment of a fee or royalty. However, it can’t distribute the materials to third parties without an agreement with you. These exceptions are set out in the Policy for the Distribution of Income from the Sale of Instructional Mate
