Under the restructuring plan, how will certified personnel be assigned?
The Superintendent will recommend the transfer of the majority of tenured and non-probationary personnel no later than February 1, 2005. Selected positions such as special education teachers, arts in education teachers, physical education teachers, reading coaches, secretary/bookkeeper, and principals may take longer due to availability and student enrollment projections. Initially, all tenured 3rd – 5th grade teachers in the western cluster will be transferred to Martin Luther King, Jr. Elementary School (MLK) which will include all of Stillman Heights Elementary regular education teachers. The PreK – 2nd grade teachers at MLK will complete preference forms for Central Elementary School (CES) or Oakdale Primary (OP) no later than February 1, 2005.
