UK Claim FAQ 2: How long have I got to make a claim?
There are strict time limits which apply to personal injury claims. In the majority of cases, if you are 18 or over and have sustained an injury, then you have 3 years from the date of your accident in which to formally commence legal proceedings. However, time limits can vary and sometimes the time limit can be shorter than 3 years. We recommend that you seek legal advice as soon as possible in relation to your own circumstances. The rules in relation to Industrial Disease and Occupational Illness claims are different and more complicated. Therefore, please do not delay in contacting us for further advice.
