Turkish Kolbasti dancing…does anyone know anything about it?
“Kolbastı” has only recently became so unbelievably popular in Turkey. Some months ago it was everywhere, literally, and -thank god- the craze seems to have calmed down a little now. Still, its effects are visible, especially around The Black Sea region, causing thousands of Turks to kick and stamp like crazed animals, millions of TV audience to zap incessantly to find a low-quality entertainment show without Kolbastı dance in it. But, it is a joyful expression of feelings through dance, one must admit. Some time ago, it was on the news that courses for Kolbastı were launched, indeed. Yet, I don’t think there’s a DVD readily available. However I am absolutely sure that video sharing sites are swarming with Kolbastı videos. As to the music, searching with the name “Trabzon Kolbastısı” or just “kolbasti” would be more than enough to find a proper mp3.
