Treatment of Mycoplasma pneumonia?

0

After recieving a series of blood tests–CBC, candida, comprehensive metabolic panel, M. Pneumonia, chlamydia trachomatic, chlamydophila pneumoniae, CBC, and helicobacter–the only thing that was out of the ordinary was Mycoplasma pneumonia. I had results of a ab igg eia 2.57 ISR. My issue isn’t the fact I have this infection; my problem is my doctor who diagnosed this wants me to go on two antibiotics–flagyl for 2 weeks, azithromycin 3 times a week for 9 weeks. It seems like overkill, and taking antibiotics for that long just don’t seem healthy. I’ve read quite a bit online via google scholar and general information that says this infection can be beaten with a ‘Z-pack’, which is essentially azithromycin for 5 days. I was curious if anybody would know this that are in the medical field, or who have had this before and have beaten it. Thanks.
