Life in villages is pretty much alive during the day time but as soon as sun goes down everybody’s back to their shelter because of unrest in the country and fear of maoist attacks. Besides poor rural Nepalese work all day long and the evening is just time to rest. Everybody just goes home and have a quiet evening, this is much the same in city areas except in places like Kathmandu, Pokhara and Dharan where tourism driven businesses like restaurants, shopping centers, clubs, bars and disco staying open late, makes some night life to talk about. Average closing time of shops and restaurants is around 9:00 PM. throughout Nepal but in many places shops close as earlier as 6:00 P.M.
