Transpose a guitar solo to alto sax?
Find the solo you want from a guitar source. To transpose to alto sax. move it to he key signature that has three LESS flats, or three MORE sharps, than the guitar. If the guitar is in G (1#) you have to re-write this in E (4#). If the guitar in is F (1b) the you re-write in D (2#). You are always moving 3 degrees in the SHARP direction, because the alto sax is pitched in Eb – 3 FLATS.
