Traffic Signals 4. How do I get a traffic signal installed?
Requests for traffic signals for intersections under the jurisdiction of the City of Fresno may be requested through Traffic Engineering by filling out an Investigation Request form. The location is investigated, studied and checked to see if warrants are met followning the guidelines in the California Manual for Uniform Traffic Control Devices. When an intersection meets warrants for signals the location is added to the 2010 New Traffic Signal Installations Priority Ranking Worksheet. This list is updated once a year. Before signals can be installed they must be assigned funding. The location then must have signals designed and then go out to bid for installation or be constructed by new development.
