tradional Moroccan wedding gift
The interesting thing is according to tradition, the Moroccan groom doesn’t typically receive wedding gifts since all these presents tend to go to the bride. According to this site on African weddings and traditions, the bride usually receives many gifts throughout the engagement period and into the wedding. The bride receives gold jewelry (necklaces, bracelets, etc) as well as cloth, gowns and perfume. Unfortunately nothing is mentioned about gifts to the groom. Perhaps this means that the bride’s lifelong devotion and love are gift enough.
However if you’re very intent on finding a wedding gift for your future husband, I recommend this site: http://www.moroccancaravan.com/default.asp. They sell fine arts and crafts from Morocco and I’m sure you can find something that the groom will surely like. Hopefully this will be sufficient as a traditional Moroccan wedding gift.
