Fencing tournaments are held all over the world. The type of tournaments, and their locations, can generally be categorized below. • Club events: held at fencing clubs throughout the nation (and internationally). Club tournaments are usually the most intimate events and held the most frequently. • Divisional and Regional tournaments: held at various times throughout the year, frequently in conjunction with the need to determine who may compete for Junior Olympic or national competitions, or who is state champion. • Super-Regional tournaments: usually organized by a university or strong regional fencing organization.
