It’s really not difficult to get a motorcycle endorsement. You need at least a restricted endorsement for any scooter that is smaller than 100cc and goes faster than 30 mph. If the scooter has an engine size over 100cc you need the full motorcycle endorsement on your driver’s license. There are two ways to get a motorcycle endorsement in New Mexico. First, you can go to the MVD and take the written exam. You can study for this test by reading the MVD drivers license manual. Towards the end there is a Motorcycle section which has some excellent information in it. Several questions in the test involve general driving info so you should at least scan the whole manual. When you pass, you’ll be given a six month permit to ride your scooter legally. Before the six months is up, you need to take the driving portion of the test.
