• Trade effluent charges will be extended to all businesses which discharge trade effluent. The calculation of these charges will continue to be on the basis of the Mogden formula and will be brought fully in line with practice in GB. • This will result in increasing trade effluent charges over several years with an increase of around 17% in 2007/08. This should be seen against very small increases in charges over the past number of years. • Around half of trade effluent customers will receive increases in charges in the region of £100 per annum in 2007/08 rising to £400 per year by 2009/10. A smaller number of customers will have more substantial increases.
