Toilets 101 – What are all the parts in the tank?

The Water Control is the means of supplying and controlling the water level in a tank. The Trip Lever is located on the outside of the tank, and is used to actuate the flush valve to initiate the flushing cycle. Try our new SmartParts™ replacement trip levers and water control, designed to fit virtually all toilets. The Flapper is a rubber disc that retains water in the tank. Upon flushing it lifts to release water out of the tank and into the bowl for a complete flushing cycle. The Flush Valve is located at the bottom of the tank and is used to discharge the water from the tank into the bowl.
