The Alberta Electric System Operator (AESO), AltaLink and EPCOR will participate in the Province’s investigation to the extent they are requested to do so by the government. To date, no such requests have been received. Currently, the AESO is also in the process of initiating its own study into the feasibility of using 500 kV AC underground technology for a portion of the Heartland Project. The results of the AESO study will be made available after the study is completed.
