To what extent does Kancho Sullivan’s karate knowledge infuse the organisation?
The syllabus has been primarily designed by him, but the teaching of those techniques, and expanding the technical knowledge of GKR is primarily handled by Stacey Karetsian, the assistant chief instructor; Gavin Samin, senior instructor; and Anthony Ryan, also a senior instructor. It would be fair to say that within the confines of the characteristics that Robert Sullivan laid out, these people have advanced and defined the karate far, far further than Robert ever did. Within each zone and region, senior and local instructors all add their own unique experience into the mix.
