To what amalgamation policy is the Council working?

0

The Cabinet agreed a revised amalgamation policy in October 2007 and schools will be required to amalgamate unless there are overriding and compelling reasons not to. There was a Cabinet decision in January 2008 that a Steering Group would be established to gather evidence and make a recommendation to Cabinet about the future organisation of the two West Lodge Schools. At their meeting in May 2008 Cabinet will consider the recommendation by the Steering Group in the context of their current amalgamation policy. It will be important that the recommendations from the Steering Group are supported by the evidence gathered through the consultation.
