Validation of results As soon as possible after election day, each returning officer conducts the validation of the results. To do so, the returning officer must have received the ballot boxes from all polling stations in the electoral district. If, on the date the validation is scheduled to take place, all ballot boxes have not been received, the returning officer must postpone the validation, from day to day, for up to seven days, until all ballot boxes are received.
