To save me a little time searching around the engine compartment, where is the MAP located?
• the6littles • 2 years ago The tahoe has about 120K miles. Plugs and wires were repalced about a year ago. I think I understated the rough running. Since the service engine light came on a couple of days ago, running has degraded daily and significantly. The Tahoe won’t maintain idle. While in park, pressing on throttle will cause the engine to die. Putting it in gear will cause it to die. It will idle for about 1 or 2 minutes and then die. It acts like it isn’t getting any gas. Normally, when I turn on ignition, before starting, I can hear the fuel pump spin up and presurize the gas line. Now, I can still hear the pump but it is making a different noise (more of a grind), which is causing me to think it may be the pump. However, there are other posting at other sites describing similar issues to my problem related to the MAP. The posting suggest disconnecting the leads to the MAP. If problems don’t go away, then fuel pump is the suspect, if they do go away, then replace MAP. I’m just
