A- The wires in your piano literally have to be retrained. In the industry we call this ‘pitch raising’. Your piano, with the amount of tension at A440, CANNOT be tuned in one session and have the piano wires’ tension stabilize. Taking into account the tremendous amount of tension on your piano at A440, a standard pitch raise my have elevated the tension on your piano by several TONS. The piano has to acclimate itself to the new tension. Some instruments affected by age or neglect will need more consecutive tunings than others, and certainly one must consider the piano’s quality and the environment as well as they also will affect these facts.
