To make this vision a reality, what are the key things that need to change?
The recognition, renumeration and career progression of care and support workers needs to be addressed if the system is to change, in that: • The profession needs to be made more aspirational • It is crucial for the workforce to be adequately skilled and that career paths are set out • Need to encourage a culture of developing expertise There is a call for better partnership working and for a united vision across the care, health and local authority sectors. Information and education were also cited as being very important. To make this vision a reality, what are the key things that need to strengthen? More effective cross-governmental working, particularly between health and social care, was cited once again.
