Job shadowing will not be enough to allow an RD to judge whether or not you are ready for dietetic internship. She is required to give an opinion on your performance during the completion of volunteer project work or paid work related to food service or dietetics. The categories which she is asked to consider in completing this reference for you are as follows: dependability, initiative (self-directedness) organization and planning skills, leadership qualities, time management, decision making skills, critical thinking skills, application of knowledge, team skills, oral communication, written communication and response to feedback.
