To date we have always programmed in C. What should make us want to use CoDeSys instead?
CoDeSys offers a number of significant advantages over C, such as: • real time debugging, that is debugging without having to stop other controller processes (monitoring, variable writing or forcing, sampling trace, power flow) • easy handling (no compiler or linker switches, no customizing in autoexec necessary) • specially customized languages for controller functions (e.g. Sequential Function Chart) • online changes • graphic program documentation Thanks to high-performance code generators, CoDeSys can also be employed for system-related e.g. display and menu administration. CoDeSys applications can also be passed on to customers not familiar with C.
