Tips Needed! How to walk on ice/snow without hurting my sprained ankle?

You need to be extremely careful b/c, if you slip and fall the wrong way, it’ll go from a sprain to a break. When it happened to me, I sat down to get down hills. I may have looked silly, but I was unwilling to risk breaking my ankle just to look okay in other people’s opinions. I took half steps and walked painstakingly slow. Also, I brought one foot up higher before setting it down. It seemed to make a difference between falling and not falling. Regardless of my careful steps, I fell twice, but I always tried to fall in the opposite direction of my sprained ankle. There wasn’t much I could do to ease the pain except take Tylenol or Motrin. The positive thing is you can put pressure on a sprain without further damaging it if you’re careful when you do so. That’s not true of break unless you’re fitted with a walking cast. I hope that helped.
