Throughout the VMS, music is often compared to language. Does the analogy apply to the clave too?
You may find this far-fetched, but sometimes I do think that every language has a kind of clave. The accents in Italian speech for instance are very specific. Or, when a Frenchman speaks English, he often stresses the wrong syllables because he is used to a different linguistic rhythm. Perhaps this analogy makes the concept of clave a bit more clear.
