Through what process were the TexShare databases chosen?

The TexShare Electronic Information Working Group (EIWG – http://www.texshare.edu/programs/electronic/electronic2001.html), in consultation with TexShare member libraries, has been working long hours to select databases. This stellar group of librarians includes representatives from all types of TexShare member libraries (4-year academic, community college, medical and public) Heres how the process has gone so far: • A survey of TexShare membership was taken in November. The survey results were tabulated by type of library (public, four-year, community college, medical) and as a TexShare-wide total. For a summary of the results, see http://www.texshare.edu/programs/electronic/electronicsurveyres.html • The EIWG met on November 29, 2000 to discuss the survey results and establish priorities for future purchases. Minutes of this meeting are at http://www.texshare.edu/programs/electronic/minutes.2000.11.29.html. A list of the features they identified is at http://www.texshare.edu/programs
