Three LAUSD teachers suspended for Black History “mischief”: Is there a racist convention in town?
Three white, South Los Angeles elementary school teachers were suspended for encouraging their students to carry pictures of O.J. Simpson, RuPaul and Dennis Rodman during a schoolyard parade honoring Black History Month. According to the Los Angeles Times , L.A. Unified School District spokeswoman Gayle Pollard-Terry said the children were carrying pictures of the three celebrities during the parade at Wadsworth Elementary School on Friday. On Tuesday, the three unidentified teachers were pulled from their classrooms by order of Supt. Ramon C. Cortines. The first few days of the teachers’ suspensions will be without pay.
