This Televison is a “Plasma” – What exactly is a Plasma Screen?
Plasma screen TV’s were the next type or generation of television after CRT introduced by Bang & Olufsen. These sets are usually the largest of the screens available and work by having individual pockets of inert gas that can be excited by a high voltage and made to ionise. In a colour set, each pocket has a similar coloured phosphor coating as seen in a CRT and the energy released by the ionised gas will cause the phosphor to glow. Like a CRT, the three basic colours are used (Red, Green and Blue) and a similar picture made of glowing dots can be made up. Because of this, the colour accuracy of plasma sets can be very accurate, exactly as in CRTs.
