I own the 97 4 cyl one myself. Have it checked by your own mechanic. While he is doing that, get a copy of the V.I.N. number. Have your mechanic check that all V.I.N. #’s on the car match up. Check with police. For deals that good, I would wonder why the car is so cheap. Also ask who did the mods? Honda’s never came with dual exhaust, so what other modifications have been done? If everything works out well, then follow the steps below to save yourself some worry and possible repair bills. After purchasing it, have your mechanic do the safety inspection. Then have him/her replace all fluids (tranny, oil, coolant, brake, power steering). I would then have the brake pads looked at and underside rust. If rust is minimal, get the underside sprayed (Ziebart is a good job and will maintain the life of the body). Get yourself some good quality tires, some spare fuses, the Haynes manual, and you are good to go!
