They are Teddy Bear Hamsters, do I seperate do the male at birth?

Answer Teddy Bear hamsters generally are pregnant for about 15-16 days. I would separate the male from her well before she is due… say about 10 days after they mated. The week before she is due she will be cranky and may even bite when bothered. Clean out her cage a few days before she’s due (day 12 or so). When the babies come, do not bother her or the babies for 2 weeks except to feed and water. Whatever you do, do NOT touch the babies! When the babies are weaned from the mother, its time to separate the girls from the boys and the father can go in with the little boys.
