• Students normally may enroll in no more than three 291s at 4 units each, for an A-F grade from any single professor; also they usually may take no more than three additional 291s at 4 units each, on an S/U basis during their graduate careers. Exceptions only granted upon petition to the Graduate Program Director. • Students who are on leave for three consecutive quarters during which they live outside California need to be aware that they will be assessed non-resident tuition upon return to enrolled status. • Students must resolve all incompletes before August 31 of a given year before they can be considered for a T.A.ship for that year. • Graduate Students cannot hold a T.A.ship beyond 18 quarters, and cannot T.A. beyond 15 quarters for courses within the History department. • The History Department reviews Ph.D. candidates’ progress on their degree annually and expects students to be making satisfactory progress while enrolled in the program.
