Ear Technology purchases UV-C lamps from three different manufacturers. Lamps made by “Ushio” or “Sanyo-Denki” have a tiny metal ball inside the glass tube. It’s perfectly normal, just their way of delivering the element that gives the lamp its ultra-violet “glow”. Since it’s part of Ushio’s proprietary manufacturing process, you won’t see (or hear!) the rolling ball if your Global has a lamp made by Philips or Keosan.
