There seems to be a reporting limitation on Makeup Jobs in BrightStor Enterprise Backup version 10.5. Can you explain this?
Computer Associates changed the logging procedure of makeup jobs in BEB 10.5. When a rotational backup job is configured to perform a makeup job in the event of failure, the log of the makeup job is appended to the original job log. The job log has these characteristics: • Logging of the makeup job immediately after the status line of the original job. • Two different statuses: the original job status (incomplete or failed), and the status of the makeup job. • Session numbers of the makeup job restarting at session #1. How Arclog handles this scenario: • The job is distilled up to the point of the first status line. Only the warnings and errors of the makeup job are reported under session numbers in the 20001-29999 range, except tape messages (N59*) which are reported to session #0. • The actual sessions of the makeup job are not reported. • If the job description is found in the Activity Log, the job description of the makeup job, rather than the original job is used.
