There is supposed to be a thunderstorm the day of my flight, will it effect anything?
A severe thunderstorm might temporarily delay the flight, as airplanes cannot fly directly through thunderstorms. However, they can fly around them, and rain and clouds have no effect on airplanes, so as long as a thunderstorm isn’t passing right through the area when it’s time to take-off, there should be no problem. Sometimes thunderstorms along the way require airplanes to make detours, which can slow the flight down. A thunderstorm passing over your destination airport might delay your arrival, or if it really hovers over the airport and refuses to move away, the airplane might land at a different, nearby airport. Thunderstorms rolling through a region can cause a lot of temporary disruptions, but most flights still usually get to their destinations, only sometimes they arrive late.
