8The spreading of livestock waste material onto land is allowed. There are however certain steps that should be taken to ensure good agricultural practice is followed to minimise odour nuisance. These are contained in the Code of Good Agricultural Practice, which provides advice about the weather conditions that would be appropriate for spreading, the days to avoid, the need for the land to be cultivated soon after spreading etc. If you are suffering from on-going ’country’ odours then please contact the Environmental Health Department on 01353 665555 with details as to the whereabouts of the fields being treated and an officer will investigate the source to ensure the Code of Practice is being complied with.
