There is a step in the output of the SN75174. What is it?
Several of the RS-485 drivers based upon the SN75176B driver exhibit a discontinuity in the slope of the differential output voltage. This does not cause a problem unless the slope is non-monotonic about the threshold region. In other words, the differential output voltage should not change slope polarity within the 20% to 80% rise or fall time region of the signal. This is also a requirement of the RS-485 standard.
