The Windows version of BackupRx Backup Manager installer hangs, what could be the problem?
There are a few things that might cause errors during or after executing the self-extractor. First of all, make sure that there is enough disk space on the target system. Next, make sure that you do not have any anti virus software or pcanywhere running as this is known to cause problems with InstallAnywhere installers. There are also problems with InstallAnywhere installers and Dell OpenManager. If OpenManager is installed on the target system, make sure to disable it prior to executing the install. The last thing would be to try turning your hardware acceleration display setting to off. There are known issue with certain versions of Java running against certain video cards. Also, if you are transferring this file from one machine to another, make sure that the file size is valid and you are transferring the file in binary mode. Also, this might be a Java only problem. Please try running any of the Swing demos that come with the Java runtime in 1.4.X and see if it hangs on Windows. So
