It isn’t just the Roman Empire! Over the course of Human history, several hundred “empires” have vanished completely. When one looks at what was going on in those societies in the run up to their demise, there is a remarkable degree of similarity. Most, but not all. The Aztec culture for example didn’t “fall”, it was pushed. There are many well documented reasons for the demise of a culture, but one of the more obvious was a tendency towards petty rules, and centralised control. The USA and the UK both show almost all of the classic historically documented characteristics of a civilisation that is about to come off the rails. Will the rest of the world miss them?

Empires always rise and fall, Britain was an Empire before America rose to power, and now the USA is in decline, China will become the next empire. It will happen, mark my words.
