The Trinity – how do I explain that it is NOT Polytheism?
You can’t, because it is polytheism. The trinity is a false doctrine that is not supported by the Bible. Trinitarians are polytheists and they don’t even know it. They believe in at least two Gods. They believe that God is composed of three co-equal, co-eternal persons. They also believe that Jesus is God. That’s TWO Gods. They believe in a tri-person God (Father, Son, and the holy spirit) and a one-person God (Jesus) at the same time. Trinitarians are so confused that they aren’t sure if God is triune or that God is a single person. So they worship them BOTH and then they call it all a trinity. If trinitarians DON’T worship three Gods, then how do they explain God the Father, God the Son, and God the holy spirit. EACH ONE is said to be FULLY God. That makes THREE GODS! JWs “don’t understand what the triune nature of the Godhead actually is”? DO YOU? Isn’t the trinity a mystery? How do you understand a mystery? Grey Tower, It’s going to be very difficult to explain to them because they already have their minds set on what they have been taught. The English is not much help but the Greek being more specific shows it better. Here are some verses I use for JW’s.
