The speed of download is extremely slow. Why am I getting poor throughput ?
While downloading files, you may experience low throughput rates. Many factors affect throughput. If your throughput is perpetually low then check the following: Conflicts on your system may cause the throughput to drop. This may be caused by a shared COM port, IRQ setting, or a memory conflict with another device or application. Documentation for the various devices on your system may give you the configuration setup for that device, which in turn may identify the conflict. A diagnostic program, such as Microsoft Diagnostics, may also identify a possible memory conflict. You may contact your hardware vendor for further assistance. If the modem driver that is used is not the correct one, throughput may suffer. Drivers are mostly model specific. Wherever possible use the driver provided by the Modem manufacturer for the particular model. If the communications software you are using is not properly configured, throughput rates may decrease.
